70% of Our Veterans Receive Healthcare Services From Outside the VA System
Veterans can face unique challenges in receiving high quality and timely healthcare services. The Veterans Affairs healthcare system is often overburdened, and many of our rural veterans live far from VA centers.
Under the VA MISSION ACT (2018), eligible veterans are able to
receive care from community providers when the VA is unable to
provide the needed services.*
If community providers can’t get paid in a reasonable amount of
time for the services they provide to our veterans, they are far
more likely to stop accepting VA Healthcare.
Making claims processing faster and more accurate is an essential
part of how we serve our nation’s veterans.
